FOXBORO – Early Saturday evening Central Catholic rolled over Xaverian in the Division 1 State Championship. The Raiders offense dominance was spearheaded by D’andre Drummond-Mayrie. Drummond-Mayrie had 119 yards and 3 TDs on 12 carries.
Xaverian scored a Touchdown and a Field-Goal in the 1st half but was limited to one touchdown in the 2nd half. Central Catholic sealed the deal offensively with a tipped one-handed catch in the endzone by Cody Demers (56 yards, 1 TD on 3 receptions.) The Hawks ended the game with 202 total yards (122 rushing; 80 passing) and two turnovers. Noah Sorrento led the Hawks offensive unit with 48 yards and 1 TD.
On defense the Raiders intercepted a Jake Farrell (6-19; 80 yards) pass with 1:47 left in the game to clinch a Division 1 State Championship. The Central Catholic Raiders defeated the Xaverian Hawks 34-17 in Game 4 of 6 at Gillette Stadium this Super Saturday.
